Birthday Girl Gifts #targetrun

My kids lead active lives, so when they need to sit and relax, they love their technology.   These were the items on my daughter’s birthday list, something new, something old school and something hot.
The new, the Nintendo3DS XL, this next generation of gaming is so much more advanced and I am always blown away when I see how much gaming changes.   The excitement on her face when she opened this gift was priceless, yesterday, two days after getting it I heard her say, “No way”  she is still figuring out new ways to play it.

The old School, the Pokémon T-shirt, a must have, not just one but two.  I remember 20 years ago when my nephew and nieces played Pokémon, I did not get it; I still don’t but as I watch her play Pokémon cards, her mind is working and firing off math and strategic moves.

As for the Frank’s Red Hot sauce, it was not on her list but she goes through a bottle of it a month.   When she un-wrapped it, she said, Cool, I'm almost out, thanks mom!!!

This birthday was easy, she made me a list of items she wanted and I was able to buy everything at Target with little effort.

The March Birthday Month is over, now on to April and Easter!

#Target Easter Basket is ready.....almost

All my eggs are in my Target Easter Basket!

I ran to Target the other day to get more eggs, I always have some left over from the year before but always buy more.  It is so fun to watch all the kids run around looking for these colorful plastic eggs.  Some are filled with money and others with candy, the kids love both.

Easter afternoon is so fun.   The adults hide all the eggs, while the kids wait anxiously in the house.   Once we are done, the little kids go first, they get first pick.   Then, the bigger kids are let loose and it is such crazy fun to watch them searching high and low.   About 10 minutes later, the kids sit on the lawn and pour out their Easter baskets and open each egg to find their treasures.  As they are opening each egg, candy is being popped into their mouths; they are chomping and chewing while counting their coins and bills.   We all wait to hear, “I got it”, the golden egg, stuffed with a $10 bill.   Everyone cheers and all the kids circle around while the winner shows them their loot with such pride.

This weekend, we still start the process of stuffing eggs as well as coloring real Eggs.   I thought once the kids got older, they would not enjoy it as much but they did, but they still do; it’s such a fun creative tradition.

Tip Toe Through the Tulips with my Target basket

One of my New Year’s resolutions was to have fresh flowers in my house weekly.    Sometimes I buy them at the store or at the local farmers market but this week, I was invited to my friend’s property; she grows Tulips.  The fields are amazing, Tulips everywhere.    They only grow for a short time, and she always invites me during this week of the year.  She has taught me how to pick, so the live plants don’t get stepped on, clip and carry the fresh picked Tulips so they don’t wilt before I get home.  In my Target basket are just a few left, waiting to be placed in vases throughout the house.

Of course there is a barter system to all of this Tulip love.  I bake her two loaves of banana bread, one with chocolate chips and walnuts and other plain.   She also wanted my Target basket, but that was a NO!  Love her, but this is mine!

Spring is almost here, Enjoy!
