Love Target, Chicago and Booze

Oh my goodness, can this be real? When will it happen in California? 

No secret  I love to shop at Target. A Chicago store will soon serve booze. I appreciate the fact that I can buy wine at Target which saves a trip to liquor store but this sounds like my dream store.   I  am always sipping a latte from Starbuck and crunching  on some yummy salty warm popcorn but now a Target store with a bar.  Come on, I have hit the shopping jackpot!  The best part is whenever I am shopping  I always run into friends and we cruise the aisles chatting it up, comparing basket items.

Now, we can all meet, enjoy a drink and all the while our husband's will think we are just shopping for toilet paper, school supplies and socks.

Please tell me when this super store will arrive on the central coast! I will be waiting and probably be your first customer!

Target Cartwheel Sad Face

Life is so busy lately that I don't have time to shop.  My #target #Cartwheel sent me a reminder  that it was empty.  I will need a #targetrun soon! 

My last Target visit  I got a pair of super  cute black quilted flats, very Coco Chanel very comfy!  I wear them all the time with everything, skirts, dresses and jeans.  I may  need another  pair, I think they come in beige and black too.  (see black flats in top left of basket  photo, shoes, soda, beer and more)

Soon, very soon with my #targetredbasket I will ready to peruse  target for  cute fall items.

Day 3 of School Supply Shopping and I'm exhausted!

School is back in session.  Too early for me, but my kids are stoked to go back and see friends.  

For 3 days I have gathered all the necessary items to make them successful in the classroom.  Pens, paper, composition books, sharpies, notes pads, erasers, glue sticks, and fresh school clothes   It is still so warm on the coast, new shorts and shirts were a must.   We are lucky to have a casual dress code, shorts and cute t-shirts, smart and fresh.  Well, and I of course needed these cute quilted flats ( I wonder if Coco Chanel knows how much Target loves her style?).  

School may have started but it is beach weather and a big group of us are meeting tomorrow at 1 pm at Platform Beach, in Rio Del Mar to hang out and let the kids frolic.  The water temperature is so warm, 64-67 degrees.    To add to the festivities, I picked up some Sunkist sodas, 7-up's, bottled water and yes, a case of Coors Light.   I will pack some sandwiches, fruit and Goldfish and we will be down there until Sunset.

Load up your basket people, it is time for school, but the fun does not need to end!

Closet Reorganizing Part 2!

It has been a week of cleaning out my closet and room!  I am a pretty neat person but for some reason my bedroom and closet were a huge, anxiety causing mess.  

As I mentioned in my last post, I stripped it down to the nubs, painted walls, and bagged up tons of clothes for donation.  

Today, I went to Target and bought 5 bins, for shoes and boots, as well as some Huggable Hangers, I need all the extra space I can get ( my house was built in the 60's and the closets are tiny).   I also got my Lysol spray, with bleach to spritz out everything.  I am on a roll; this house is going to be ship shape in no time (hopefully by tonight).

Lastly, I threw in a bottle of Ken's Steakhouse Ranch Dressing.  I just picked a ton of fresh veggies and I was craving a "Crudité"* platter to snack on. Yum, I keep a bowl of ranch next to the veggies and snack as I go.  

Let's see if I can get this all done by 11 pm tonight! Wish me luck!

*I laughed when I wrote Crudité' platter.  All it is is cut up carrots, cucumbers and peppers, but using that word makes it sound so much fancier!

Out with the old, in the with new!

Nothing like a nice cleanse to make yourself feel fresh!   Spent the weekend cleaning out my room, stripped it down, everything is in the hallways and living room and nothing is going back unless I need or wear it.


First I purged my closet and the bathroom door.  Yes, the bathroom door was used as a closet extension, with hooks and devises to hold the closet clothing overflow.   It was such an anxiety nightmare, I had to do something.  I removed everything, and filled 8 trash bags with clothes to donate. I have a scheduled pick up on August 14th.   I vow to no longer use the bathroom door as a closet, I will  use it as a door for the bathroom (I took a picture of it, but deleted it off my phone because I don't want to even look at the disorganized mess I created).  


The few old clothing items I did keep.  Vintage J.Crew classic clothing, pieces I love and have had for forever and Yes, even some Vintage Target pieces that I love and dry clean to keep them fresh.  I use the word vintage, because the J.Crew pieces are 15 + years old and the Target pieces, are 10+ old.  Classic and timeless.  


On to the next step of my bedroom overhaul.  I removed the bedroom furniture, except for my husband’s armor and our bed; too big and too heavy for me to do myself.  I put everything into the middle of the room and taped up the walls.  I painted the ceiling white and changed the wall color to a neutral light not quite yellow.  It has brightened up the whole room.  It all looks so fresh and clean now.


Now, to decided what goes back into the room and to buy a new light fixture.  And, Yes, I will be going to Target to buy scarf, belts and shoe storage bin boxes.  I will not, go into the clothing, workout, accessary, shoes departments while I am there.  Who am I kidding, Yes I will because I have tons of room now for new stuff! 


I am off to start my day.  I feel good and vow not to let the room get out of control again.
